The UAE government permitted the construction of its first casino in UAE. The casino will be made in Ras Al Khaimah. The Wynn Resorts are taking a huge step, and the Emirate’s authorities are making the laws keeping in mind the Singaporean and US law for gaming in casinos.
The CEO of Wynn Resorts, Craig Billings is very confident in the success of the first-ever casino in UAE. According to different media coverage, the CEO plans to make the casino larger than Wynn Las Vegas and to make it accurately operational according to the laws of UAE the CEO plans to operate it internally for some time and later make it public. Furthermore, the casino is expected to double in size compared to Wynn Las Vegas.
UAE Laws For The Authorization Of Operating Casino
Wynn Resorts is not ready to establish the foundation of the casino unless the proper legislation of the laws for gaming in the casino is not notified. The CEO believes that the project cannot be worth it if the legislation for their casino becomes a multiyear process, which was faced by Wynn Resorts earlier in different countries.
The CEO sees a promising future for the casino in the UAE and finds the taxation policy and license structure of the UAE very justified and reasonable.
The casino operations will also be having another hurdle to cross for the fulfillment of all the requirements of the casino. The liquor consumption permit. Currently, the use of liquor or under the influence of liquor in the public is considered to be a punishable offense according to UAE laws.
Liquor Policy In UAE 2022
Though UAE became considerably relaxed in their laws over the use of liquor consumption over these years. The UAE’s new policies permit its residents to drink alcohol at their homes or in some given licensed venues.
Though in some cities such as Abu Dhabi, there is no requirement for a license for the consumption of alcohol in cities like Dubai the residents require a license for the consumption of alcohol. To cater to the issue of the consumption of liquor by tourists, the authorities provide a temporary liquor license to the tourists for 2 months. Tourists can purchase alcohol from authorized liquor stores with the provided license.
